What to Expect in AP GOPO
Class content:
One thing to expect for sure is homework. Lots and lots of homework. Even on weekends. It's kind of tiring but you'll get use to it. You also have to do the occasional essay. There are packets for the units you'll be covering and Mr. Brock lectures everyday over what you're going over. Everyday. So don't have panic over not reading for one night because you already covered most of it. Though it is smart to actually read the packet or section of the packet that was discussed. Depending on if Mr. Bock says otherwise, homework will mostly consist of taking note from the packet. It isn't the normal 'right everything you think is important on a sheet of paper' kind of notes. You can make Cornell notes, Q&A notes, flashcards, or digital flashcards (on studystack or qizlet).
Social content:
Just expect a lot of jokes from Mr. Brock. Because he's awesome like that. Also at some point in time someone will say something that will offend you. And you have a right to defend your opinion but this class will make you question your friendships with some people. Especially with conflicting political views. Just remember this is 'Murica. With freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and all that t̶e̶r̶r̶i̶b̶l̶e̶ good stuff.
